The first vaccinations against coronavirus in our country are expected to start on December 27. This was confirmed for NOVA by the Chief Health Inspector Angel Kunchev. According to him, the first vaccines for Bulgaria will start from Belgium on December 24.

Bulgaria: 1287 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. 4407 PCR tests were performed. This is indicated by the data in the Unified Information Portal. 2235 are cured.

595 patients are in the intensive care unit. 64 people died in the last 24 hours.

Most new cases of infection are in Sofia, Varna and Plovdiv.

Minister of Health Kostadin Angelov received from the contractor 20 new fully equipped ambulances and handed them over to the emergency medical centers in Sofia, Plovdiv, Burgas, Varna, Dobrich and Targovishte.

The new cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria are 2037 with 5 986 PCR tests performed for the last 24 hours. 996 are newly treated, 79 are dead, 516 are in the intensive care unit, according to the Unified Information Portal. Most new cases are in Sofia and Varna.

World known cardio surgeon Prof. Alexander Chirkov passed away early this morning. He was the man who performed the first heart transplant in Bulgaria in 1986.

The deadline for the completion of the Hemus highway, which is to connect Sofia and Varna, will be met. This is what Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said in Varna. 34 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Bulgaria in the past 24 hours, or 9 more as compared to the previous day, the National Information Website on Covid-19 announced. 

13 new cases of the novel coronavirus were registered in Sarnitsa municipality. 149 of all patients diagnosed with Covid-19 are admitted to hospitals, of whom 8 in intensive-care units.

The fast train № 2602 from Varna to Sofia derailed in the section between Levski and Pordim after a motorist made an attempt to go though railway level crossing when it was closed and crashed into the first carriage of the train.
