Agreement on Health worth 500 million euros signed with World Bank, in presence of PM Dancila in NYC

Prime Minister Viorica Dancila held a meeting on Monday with representatives of the World Bank in New York, during her working visit to the United States, at the end of which was signed the Loan Agreement aimed at increasing the citizens' access to public primary health care services and at promoting preventive medical services, especially in less developed areas, worth 500 million euros.

US urge 'immediate reopening' of Halki seminary

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has urged the "immediate reopening" of the Theological School of Halki, off the coast of Istanbul, which Turkey shut down in 1971.

"We urge the immediate reopening of the Halki seminary," Pompeo said during introductory remarks at the presentation of the 2018 Annual Report on International Religious Freedom in Washington, DC, late on Friday.

Animal welfare activists to protest donkey rides outside Greek embassy in Washington

Animal rights activists announced they will hold a rally outside the Greek embassy in Washington, DC on Thursday at noon (local time)  to call for an end to Santorini's donkey rides.
The group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) described the practice as "notoriously inhumane," pointing to a damning eyewitness investigation by the group's German chapter.
