Two babies in the Chinese city of Wuhan, one of whom is only one day old, tested positive for the new coronavirus, CNN reports.

Doctors and scientists still cannot determine how they got infected. The virus is likely to be transmitted by mothers who are also infected.

Ten more people on a quarantined cruise liner in a Japanese port have tested positive for coronavirus, officials said on Feb. 6, as the virus death toll in mainland China hit 563, with almost 3,000 new cases reported.

In the northwestern province of Jinghai, a worker, a migrant identified by his last name Gou by the police, is under investigation for allegedly endangering public security by deliberately concealing that he was traveling to Wuhan, CNN reports.
Gou returned from Wuhan to the village of Hachigou last month, but faked his travel route and date of return, the police said.

More than 24,500 people worldwide are now infected with the coronavirus, the AP reported, citing the latest data released today in Beijing.

490 people have died and 24 324 cases have been confirmed in mainland China. Another 17 cases have been confirmed in Hong Kong. Macau has identified 10 cases of infection.

Russia may import fruit, vegetable, and seafood products from Turkey or Morocco, replacing imports from China amid coronavirus outbreak, an official said on Feb. 5.

he death toll in China from the novel coronavirus outbreak has climbed to 491, the country's National Health Commission (NHC) said on Feb. 4.

In a statement, the commission said 24,324 confirmed cases have been reported so far and 65 people have died in the last 24 hours.

The death toll in China from the novel coronavirus outbreak climbed to 425, the country's National Health Commission (NHC) said on Feb. 4.

In a statement, the commission said it has so far received a total of 20,438 confirmed cases, adding a total of 64 people died over the last 24 hours.

Hong Kong reported its first death from the newly identified coronavirus on Feb. 4, the second outside mainland China from an outbreak that has killed more than 420 people, spread around the world and raised fears for global economic growth.
