Zagreb Opens Vintage-Style Skating Rink

The skating rink, which opened on Friday in King Tomislav Square between the main railway station and Zagreb's arts pavilion, is modelled on one that stood in the same place while Croatia was a part of the Austro-Hungarian empire.

The authorities tried to simulate the 19th century rink existed by using lanterns to light it by night.

Balkan Design Network kicks off

BELGRADE - Balkan Design Network (BDN), which was established to provide strategic support in development and promotion of Balkan design and raise awareness about the significance of design for social and economic development, has started operation.

BDN was founded by the Mikser organisation from Belgrade, the Croatian Designer Society from Zagreb and Public Room from Skopje.
