A joint funeral is being held on Tuesday for 30 victims of the July 1995 genocide of Bosniaks, with thousands of mourners expected to attend the annual commemoration at the Srebrenica Memorial Centre in eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Bosnian state prosecution announced on Monday that Borislav Gligorevic was arrested on May 26 while attempting to enter Bosnia and Herzegovina from Serbia at the Karakaj border crossing.

The Bosnian state court has rejected a prosecution appeal confirmed a verdict acquitting Miodrag Josipovic, Branimir Tesic, Dragomir Vasic, Danilo Zoljic and Radomir Pantic of participation in the partial extermination of Bosniaks from Srebrenica in July 1995, the men's lawyers told BIRN.

"The prosecution has not proved that the defendants had the intent to commit extermination," said presiding judge Minka Kreho.

The defence lawyer for Dragomir Vasic urged the Bosnian state court in Sarajevo on Monday to clear his client of assisting in the forcible resettlement of Bosniaks from Srebrenica in July 1995 as well as the capture and execution of men and boys in Bratunac, Srebrenica and Zvornik.

Ex-servicemen Pero Radic, Bozo Vidovic, Petko Tomic, Branko Studen, Vlado Ristanovic and Milan Mijic went on trial for crimes against humanity on Wednesday at the Bosnian state court in Sarajevo.
