Nearly 1,500 refugees passed into Greece in August
The number of refugees and illegal migrants that have landed in the Greek islands of the northern Aegean Sea have reached 1,421 since the start of the month of August. 569 entered Samos, 458 Chios and 394 Lesvos, while according to official data from the Turkish coast guard, 1,265 people headed towards the Greek isles were intercepted and returned to Turkey.

Turkish F-16s violate Greek airspace 17 times
Four F-16 fighter jets and a CN-235 reconnaissance plane violated Greek airspace 17 times over the Aegean Sea on Thursday. The aircraft also infringed the Athens FIR. All airplanes were intercepted by the Hellenic Air force.

Greece Angered at Turkey that they Disputed Marine Border
Greece rejected as "unreasonable" the claims of Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlith Chavushoglu that there is no marine border between the two countries, BNR reported.
Turkish FM disputes Lausanne Treaty
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has disputed the Treaty of Lausanne, which set out the modern borders between Greece and Turkey, saying that Ankara will not accept "de facto situations" in the Aegean Sea.
Speaking before Turkey's National Assembly, Cavusoglu said that a number of interconnected problems remain in the Aegean between the two neighboring countries.
