New MİT exhibition celebrates agency’s 97 years

In celebration of the 97th anniversary of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT), the "Temas Istanbul" exhibition has opened its doors at the Ataturk Cultural Center (AKM) on Jan. 19, in which a collection of unique listening and surveillance objects such as shoes, watches, ties, and scales can be found.

Hungary-Türkiye Cultural Year starts

The 2024 Hungary-Türkiye Cultural Year will kick off on Jan. 21 with a concert of by the Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra, to be held at the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) in Istanbul. On the same day as the concert an exhibition depicting the important contributions of Hungarians in the establishment of Türkiye will also be presented to the audience at AKM.

Istanbul Opera Festival kicks off

The 13th International Istanbul Opera Festival will start with the "7 Tenor" concert at Haliç Congress Center Open Air Stage on July 16. The event will feature four major opera works and a concert to be staged by the Ankara, Istanbul and Antalya State Opera and Ballet Directorates until July 30. All works within the scope of the festival will be staged at 9 p.m.

Atatürk Cultural Center welcomes 100,000 visitors in two weeks

The Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM), which reopened its doors in late October after comprehensive renovation work, has welcomed 100,000 people in just two weeks.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan inaugurated Istanbul's landmark structure on Oct. 29, which marked the 98th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Turkey.
