‘Gay’ storyline in Alexander the Great Netflix series based on historical context
Following the release of Netflix's new production about Alexander the Great, posts on social media said the entertainment company fabricated a same-sex storyline for the ancient Greek ruler. But the posts are missing the context that sexual fluidity was the norm in Ancient Greece, according to historians, who say it is likely Alexander had relationships with men.

The Palace of Aigai in northern Greece was fully reopened Friday following a 16-year renovation that cost more than 20 million euros and included financial support from the European Union.
Exhibition displays Ottoman and Republic-era objects

Sheridan died in her sleep from natural causes, five days after her April 10 birthday, said Amanda Hendon, her longtime representative and friend. She did not provide further details, including where Sheridan was living.

Nearly three decades after it was finished by Yannis Pappas, one of the greatest Greek sculptors of the 20th century, a bronze equestrian statue of Alexander the Great has finally been installed in central Athens near the Zappeion, very near Syntagma Square and even closer to the columns of the Temple of Olympian Zeus.

Macedonia to Rename Divisive Statues That Irked Greece
Huge statues erected in recent years in the Macedonian capital of the ancient warrior kings Alexander the Great and Filip of Macedon - as well as that of Alexander's mother, Olympia - will be officially renamed and marked in honour of Greek-Macedonian friendship, the Macedonian government has announced.
Alexander the Great pulled from FYROM airport in gesture
The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) has begun the process of changing the name of its airport honoring the ancient warrior king Alexander the Great as a goodwill gesture to Greece.
Turkish consortium TAV, which operates Skopje Alexander the Great Airport, started removing the 3-meter-long (9.8 feet) letters spelling out the name from the terminal Saturday.
