ATHEX: Banks' losing streak brought to an end as turnover leaps
The closing auctions saved the day for the Greek stock market's benchmark once again on Friday, leading to the highest daily turnover in 30 sessions. The banks index also ended its six-day losing streak, during which it had shrunk by almost 20 percent.
ATHEX: Banks index sinks to new 12-month low
As many had been expecting, the Greek bourse benchmark dropped below the 600-point mark before the end of the year, succumbing on Thursday to pressure on bank stocks in particular. It was the seventh consecutive day of losses for Athinon Avenue, which picked up from where it had left off before Christmas.

Eurobank loans for RES plants
Eurobank announced on Thursday that it has concluded three bond loan issues totaling 201.9 million euros, which will go toward financing three operating entities of Total Eren in Greece, representing a portfolio of 162.4 megawatts of wind and photovoltaic parks.

Alpha Bank reverts to profits in Q3

Alpha Bank in deal to sell 1.0 bln euros pool of sour loans
Greece's fourth-largest lender Alpha Bank said on Thursday it clinched a deal to sell 1.0 bln euros of Greek small business non-performing loans with a consortium of funds managed by Apollo Global Management and the IFC.
Alpha Bank picks CFO Psaltis as new chief executive
Alpha bank, Greece's fourth-largest lender, said on Thursday its board of directors picked Chief Financial Officer Vasilis Psaltis as the bank's new CEO to replace outgoing Dimitris Mantzounis.
The board's decision was unanimous Alpha Bank said in a bourse filing. Psaltis will take over as new CEO on Jan. 2. [Reuters]
Banks give positive response to BoG plan
The Bank of Greece's plan for the reduction of nonperforming loans through the utilization of the deferred tax assets received provisionally positive feedback from Greek bank managers on Thursday.

Court accepts Onex's plan for Neorion Shipyard
A court on Syros has finally ratified the streamlining plan for the Neorion Shipyard in Ermoupoli, the capital of the Cyclades. The verdict means the historic company is now officially under the control of Onex Syros Shipyards, owned by Greek American Panos Xenokostas.

EBRD invests in Alpha Bank bad loan portfolio
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Waterfall Asset Management have joined B2Holding in investing in a bad loan portfolio originated by Greece's Alpha Bank, EBRD said on Monday.

Profit-taking pushes Greek stocks lower
Greek stocks posted losses on the Athens stock exchange on Friday as traders cashed in on the gains of the two previous sessions, during which the general index rose 3.69 percent.
The general index fell 0.87 percent to close at 724.85 points against Thursday's 731.19 points.
