Divers find 15.7-hectare waste tip in sea off Andros
Volunteer divers from Aegean Rebreath, in cooperation with the Hellenic Center for Marine Research, have discovered waste mounds in the sea off the island of Andros with a perimeter of more than 100 meters. Specifically, the underwater landfill in Andros reaches 15.7 hectares.
Mykonos town planning office to be refounded
The Decentralized Administration of the Aegean has decided to re-establish the town planning department of the island of Mykonos, where on Friday a small part of the Nammos beach restaurant complex on Psarrou Beach was sealed off by authorities.

Rafina Port Authority: Plans for ship electrification
The Port of Rafina, the second largest in the country in terms of passenger traffic, after Piraeus, is also, together with Piraeus, the port that secured financing from European funds to create electrification infrastructure for passenger ships.

Santorini port cleaned, Andros seabed still a mess
Divers cleaned up the seabed in the old port of Fira on the island of Santorini for the first time on Monday, removing 340 kilograms of waste. The operation was organized by members of the island's diving centers and volunteers.
"The caldera has a peculiarity, the slopes are steep at its bottom," said Dimitris Kampanos, a diving instructor.

Progress of island excavations to be presented in Athens

Beautiful beaches of Andros (photos)
Andros is the northernmost island of Cyclades and second in area after Naxos.
It has an area of 374 square kilometers and longitudinal shape in a N-NW to S-SE direction. Its highest mountains are Petalo and Kouvara (maximum altitude of 997 m., highest peak is Profitis Ilias).

The dramatic rescue of 9 sailors from a sinking ship! (VIDEO + PHOTOS)
With only the ship’s bridge visible just above the surface, the Hellenic Navy’s S-70B helicopter is making an enormous effort to save the 9 men of a merchant ship that ran aground at the Greek island of Andros.
