The first doses of the vaccine made by the Pfizer and BioNtech companies will arrive in Serbia this week, Pavle Zelic, from the Serbia's Agency for Medicines, said on Monday.

"The number of new cases of COVID-19 and mortality do not decrease at the expected rate after the introduction of new measures because there is a hidden morbidity. There are infected people who prefer not to be examined, do not allow us to register them - to quarantine them and their relatives," said Director of "Pirogov" emergency hospital Prof. Asen Baltov on bTV this morning.

Vaccines developed by Sinovac Biotech Ltd. and the state-owned China National Biotec Group Co. have been dispensed in the country since they were granted emergency-use authorization in July.

Vaccine doses from the first "symbolic" tranche will be allocated for the vaccination of medical personnel from the 10 phase I medical units, informs the National Committee for the Coordination of Vaccination Activities against COVID-19 (CNCAV) on Friday.
