Blagoevgrad Added to Red Zone Regions on Bulgaria's Covid Morbidity Map
"Blagoevgrad Region is already in the "red zone" by number o COVID-19" patients. This was announced by Dr. Kaloyan Kaloyanov, Director of regional health inspection during a meeting of the Regional Crisis Headquarters for Combating Coronavirus.
Earthquake Measuring 3,5 Registered in Blagoevgrad Region
An earthquake with a magnitude of 3,5 on the Richter scale and at a depth of 13 kilometers was registered on the territory of Blagoevgrad region (southwestern Bulgaria) this night at 02:31 am, reported the National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
August 12 Marks International Youth Day
Today is the International Youth Day. It has been marked in Bulgaria since 2007. Its idea is to draw public attention to various youth issues.
The city hosting this year's events in Bulgaria is Varna, 2017 European Youth Capital.

Wolf Flees Zoo in Bulgaria's Blagoevgrad
A wolf fled the zoo in Blagoevgrad, Southwestern Bulgaria, news agencies report.
Visitors were immediately evacuated after staff members noticed the animal's cage was empty. Police and fire brigade teams were sent to the site.
This is the second incident with an animal escaping the zoo, after two bears did the same ten years ago.
