A partial reconstruction of a Malaysia Airlines jet made of wreckage found strewn across eastern Ukraine told the graphic story on Oct. 13 of its violent last moments after being hit by a surface-to-air missile.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 was shot down over eastern Ukraine by a Russian-made Buk missile, the Dutch Safety Board concluded on Oct. 13 in its final report on the July 2014 crash that killed all 298 people on board.

The long-awaited findings of the board, which was not empowered to address questions of responsibility, did not specify who launched the missile. 

France on August 17 said it was calling off the hunt for wreckage from missing flight MH370 after 10 days of air and sea searches off its Indian Ocean territory of Reunion yielded no results.
