PM Borissov: Greece-Bulgaria Interconnector Pipeline Is of Strategic Importance for Ensuring Energy Security in the Region

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has met with U.S. Ambassador to Greece Geoffrey Pyatt on the sidelines of the 4th Thessaloniki Summit, the government press office reported.

Electricity, Heating and Hot Water Prices Will Rise from July 1

Electricity, hot water and hot water prices will rise from July 1. On average, the heat price increases by 4.5%. Most expensive will be in Razgrad - with an increase of nearly 18% and Gabrovo - by almost 13%. After them are Vratsa, Veliko Tarnovo and Plovdiv.

The jump in the electricity price is on average about 3.5% for the country. The increase is within annual inflation. 

KEVR Will Have Meeting on the Gas Price in Bulgaria

The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission will hold an open gas price meeting for the third quarter.

At the request of Bulgargaz, the price may fall slightly - by about 1%. This will affect suppliers and customers connected to the gas network.

By the end of June, KEVR should also announce the price of electricity and heating. However, an increase is expected for them.

First American Liquefied Gas for Bulgaria

Bulgaria is starting to consume US liquefied gas, which is a first step towards diversifying supplies and reducing dependence on imports of Russian natural gas only. On Thursday evening, at the Greek LNG Revituse, the first tanker arrived with 90 million cubic meters of raw material for Bulgargaz, the unloading of which will start today,  June 1st.

Energy Expert: Bulgaria Can Import Gas From the US at a Bargain Price, But Not Now

Hristo Kazadjiev predicts gas price growth in the coming months, reported NOVA TV. 
"Bulgaria can import gas from the US at a bargain price and minimize transport costs for the raw material." This is the energy expert Hristo Kazandzhiev in an interview with Darik. He predicts a rise in gas prices in the coming months, DarikNews reports.
