Janša receives European bishops and church representatives

Ljubljana – Prime Minister Janez Janša met with representatives of the Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the EU (COMECE) and the Conference of European Churches (CEC) on Friday. They discussed the global role of the EU, religious freedom and the ongoing pandemic, said the PM’s office and the Slovenian Bishops’ Conference (SŠK).

President Radev and Central Election Commission: Amendments to the Electoral Code Are Necessary

 During a meeting between President Rumen Radev and the CEC leadership, CEC Chairman Andreev commented, that this cannot be done with an extended interpretation of the Electoral Code.

Conclusion of all was that the voting of the isolated voters with coronavirus cannot be regulated without changes in the Electoral Code.

The Election Day Is Over - All Sections Are Now Closed

The first round of local elections is over. At 9:00 pm, all sections were closed. This also applies to places where by 8:00 PM, when the election day officially ends, there were still people in front of the sections who wanted to exercise their right to vote. However, after 60 minutes, all such sections were closed, it became clear from the words of CEC spokesman Alexander Andreev to BNT.

Kosovo President Seeks Probe into ‘Poisoned’ Election Officials

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has called for an investigation into claims that members of the national election commission, the CEC, suffered an allergic reaction after opening poisoned envelopes containing ballots cast in Serbia. He called for restraint until the probe finishes.
