Bulgaria's regulator said on Wednesday it was examining Eurohold to establish its financial situation given its bid to acquire the Bulgarian assets of Czech utility CEZ, reported Reuters. 

An average of 15 percent will increase household electricity prices if the energy regulator approves CEZ's proposal to increase the cost of electricity. The opinion expressed to Darik the energy expert and member of the strategic council to President Elenko Bozhkov.
 

Bulgaria's parliament on Wednesday amended energy legislation to give the country's Energy and Water Regulatory Commission, KEVR, the final say on the sales of 20 or more per cent of any gas or electrical distribution company operating in the country.

Sofia. Inercom Bulgaria has submitted a new notification on the CEZ deal to the Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) after a restructuring that the company said was a response to all concerns about concentration stated by the antitrust regulator.

Ginka Varbakova, the owner of Bulgaria's family-owned Inercom Group, has left several companies that operate photovoltaic power plants in order to save a deal with Czech CEZ on the sale of its assets in Bulgaria, Investor.bg reported on September 17.

Introduction

On 19 July 2018 the Commission for the Protection of Competition (CPC) prohibited the following two concentrations:

Czech energy company CEZ has filed an administrative claim against the Bulgarian competition watchdog, CPC, over a ban on selling its assets in Bulgaria to the local firm Inercom Group, Investor.bg reported on August 7.

The Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC)  stopped Incercom from acquiring CEZ's assets in Bulgaria.

"The Bulgarian government has no intention of taking part in the CEZ deal," Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov on Tuesday told the temporary special parliamentary committee created to investigate the sale of the largest energy distribution company.

A European Energy Forum is taking place in Sofia, within the framework of the Bulgarian Euro-Presidency. The forum was opened by Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova. The Vice-President of the European Commission Maroš Šefčovič, also arrived in our country to participate in it.
