Khashoggi was murdered by Saudi agents inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in 2018 when he visited the consulate to arrange his marriage papers.

The Republican People's Party's (CHP) group deputy chair has submitted the party's law proposal to the parliament in an effort to "amend the law on the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, " CHP spokesperson Faik Öztrak said on May 3.

Parliament Speaker İsmail Kahraman has rejected a proposal submitted by the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) regarding the formation of a special commission to investigate human rights violations in the Gaza Strip.
