War in Ukraine: Greece closes airspace for aircraft from Russia

An air directive (notam) for the banning of Russian aircraft flights in the National Airspace of Greece, was issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), after the decision of the European Union to close its airspace to the Russian Federation.

The directive will last for three months and is valid from today, Monday 28 February 2022.

Kabul International Airport Officially Resumed Operations

Kabul International Airport has officially announced that it is open for domestic and international flights, Khaama Press reported, citing a source from the Civil Aviation Authority.

As a result of the terrorist act of August 26, the runway was severely damaged.

Technical experts from Qatar and Turkey helped resume operations at the international airport.

Slovenia introducing digital PLFs for air and sea passengers

Ljubljana – All passengers arriving in Slovenia by plane or ship will need to fill out a Digital Passenger Locator Form (dPLF) before entering the country starting from 16 August, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has announced.

The form makes it easier to track contacts in cases where passengers are exposed to a communicable disease during their journey.

Olympic Air flight schedule changes on Thur. due to four-hour work stoppage

Olympic Air, the domestic carrier for Aegean Airlines, on Wednesday announced schedule changes for 15 flights on Thursday, June 10, due to a four-hour work stoppage by Civil Aviation Authority and civil aviation telecommunication employees.

The work stoppage was called from 11.30 (09.30 GMT) to 15.30 (13.30 GMT).

Domestic air travel restrictions extended until Jan 11

The directive allowing only essential domestic flights between all airports in the country has been extended until Monday, with the aim of protecting passengers and the public from Covid-19. 

According to the relevant announcement, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said on Thursday the extension will last until 6 a.m. on Monday.
