BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday he had signed with German Ambassador to Belgrade Anke Konrad a joint statement of intent between the Office of the President of the Republic of Serbia and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.

September 21 is the International Day of Peace.

Bulgaria also joins the date, BGNES reported.

The agenda of the meeting of the EU environment council held in Luxembourg on Wednesday, included a discussion on the management of chemicals, according to a press statement released by the Romanian Ministry of the Environment. The meeting was the last organised under the aegis of the Romanian presidency of the EU Council.

The BRUA gas pipeline is fundamental for the European Commission and it is important for the gas to reach Austria regardless of the route to be decided, European Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy Miguel Arias Canete said on Tuesday in Bucharest.

Bulgaria has received permission from the European Commission for the supplies of Russian gas to the Balkan gas distribution center, the Ministry of Interior announced, quoted by BNR.

European Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy Miguel Arias Cañete is in Athens where he is holding negotiations with the Greek government on key energy projects.

The interconnector Greece - Bulgaria is among these projects.

EU Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy, Miguel Arias Canete, will pay a two-day visit to Bulgarian on Thursday and Friday.

Bulgaria will receive an EU grant of EUR 850,000  for the rehabilitation, modernization and expansion of its gas transmission system under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), an EU funding programme for infrastructure.

The European Commission said on Wednesday that it has adopted a list of 195 key energy infrastructure projects that form key building blocks of the EU's Energy Union.
