Against the backdrop of the scandal of the theft of hundreds of valuable objects from the British Museum, Greece's Culture Minister Lina Mendoni stressed that the institution's argument for the non-return of the Parthenon Sculptures to Greece has collapsed.

Greece said it has recovered hundreds of looted Neolithic to Byzantine artifacts including a second century bronze statue of Alexander the Great from a notorious British antiquities dealer after a 17-year legal battle.

The "Oedipe Redux" project, a contemporary "re-envision" in a jazz key of Enescu's masterpiece, created by Romanian artist Lucian Ban and US violinist Mat Maneri, will be performed at the Europalia International Arts Festival, in a tour including five opera concerts in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, between 19-29 November 2019.

Greek Culture Minister Lydia Koniordou brought up the issue of the return of the Parthenon Marbles to Greece during a visit to London this week, the ministry said in a press release on Friday.
