Vodafone to acquire Cyta Hellas
The National Commission for Telecommunications and Post (EETT) convened on Thursday and, according to sources, has decided to issue its approval for the acquisition of Cyta telecom's Greek subsidiary by Vodafone.
This decision paves the way for the merger of the two Greek companies, thereby reducing the number of local market players from five to four.

Nicosia to persist with Cyta privatization effort
Cyprus will try again to push through the sale of a minority stake in state telecommunications company Cyta, Finance Minister Harris Georgiades said on Monday.
"We are finding it difficult [to privatize Cyta]..." Georgiades said at an event at the London School of Economics. "But we will have another go."

Cyta privatization process to be launched by May
Cyprus aims to launch the privatization process for state telecoms company Cyta by May in inviting potential bidders to submit nonbinding expressions of interest, the island?s privatization commissioner said on Friday.
Constantinos Herodotou told a business conference the target date for the completion of the process, which will be in three phases, was the end of 2015.

Vodafone, Wind plan OTE landline rival

Citigroup Global Markets appointed as advisers for Cyta sell-off
Cyprus has appointed Citigroup Global Markets as advisers for the privatization of state telecoms firm Cyta, authorities said on Tuesday.
Privatization of the telecoms company, which holds a dominant position in the Cypriot market, is a condition of Cyprus?s 10-billion-euro bailout brokered in 2013 from the Eueropean Union and the International Monetary Fund.
Tender for telecoms upgrade near
The Ministry of Administrative Reform and E-Governance is adding the final touches to its latest tender for an upgrade of the public sectors telecommunications infrastructure.
The project, dubbed Syzefxis II and budgeted at 600-650 million euros, is expected to attract bids from both local and foreign players.

Limassol Port Privatization Procedure Underway
A privatization procedure has been launched for the port in Limassol.
Cyprus' Cabinet approved the decision on Wednesday, following a decision of Parliament on March 4 in favor of a large-scale privatization program which has been strongly opposed by unions.
