Bulgaria is starting to consume US liquefied gas, which is a first step towards diversifying supplies and reducing dependence on imports of Russian natural gas only. On Thursday evening, at the Greek LNG Revituse, the first tanker arrived with 90 million cubic meters of raw material for Bulgargaz, the unloading of which will start today,  June 1st.

Bulgaria's Bulgargaz has struck a deal to buy 1.5 million megawatt hours of natural gas from Greece's Public Gas Corporation (DEPA), the first time the state provider has bought gas outside its long-term contract with Russia's Gazprom.

The creditors of Bulgaria's State Railways (BDZ) will most likely sell of the company's most valuable assets, said Transport Minister Danail Papazov.
