Bulgaria has gracefully stepped back from its candidacy to host the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), expressing a commitment to fostering successful cooperation within the Eastern European Group.

New York – The UN General Assembly elected Slovenia with 176 votes to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), one of the six principal bodies of the United Nations, responsible for coordinating the economic and social policies of the organisation.

In that capacity, Serbia will participate in the 2020 session in Glasgow, the environment ministry said.
At the closing of the conference, signatories to the UN Convention on Climate Change COP 25 in Madrid today, Serbia was also elected a member of the Convention Bureau on behalf of the Eastern European Group of countries, the statement added.
