Bulgaria: Minor Incident in Kozloduy NPP, Unit 5 Temporarily Closed

An incident  has caused an automatic shutdown of the reactor in Unit 5 of the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant. MP of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms Ramadan Atalay confirmed the news during morning program on BNT.

Bulgaria Becomes Part of the Common European Electricity Market

Bulgaria joins the common European electricity market, the Electricity System Operator announced. Together with Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovenia, Bulgaria will now be involved in unifying the electricity markets.

So far, there were 14 European countries involved in the union.

The first deliveries are planned for November 20 this year.

Until June 30th, Turkey Won't Export Electricity to Bulgaria

Due to problems in the Turkish power system, the Turkish operator TEIAS reduces the transmission capacity towards Turkey to Bulgaria to 0 MW between 17.06.2019 and 30.06.2019 and there will be no imports of electricity from Turkey to Bulgaria for this period. This was announced by the Electricity System Operator (ESO), quoted by BTA.
