Since the beginning of the year, the export of electricity has decreased by nearly 66 percent, and the production of electricity has shrunk by a fifth compared to the same period last year, according to the data of the Electricity System Operator, BNR reports.

The Electricity System Operator (ESO) has activated replacement capacities from all TPPs and hydropower plants (HPPs) in the country to compensate for the shutdown of Unit V of Kozloduy NPP last night.

An incident  has caused an automatic shutdown of the reactor in Unit 5 of the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant. MP of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms Ramadan Atalay confirmed the news during morning program on BNT.

Bulgaria, Northern Macedonia and Albania have signed a memorandum on integrating their electricity markets and developing joint electricity trading in Southeast Europe, the state-run Electricity System Operator announced on Friday.
