Jobless in Greece over 1 million, ELSTAT says
The aggregate of employed people is estimated at a little over 3,6 million, a 0.9% rise in comparison to March 2016. The number of non working population (people without a job and not seeking work) amounts to 3,270,865, a 0.2% increase compared to March 2016 and February 2017.

EMY forecasts bad weather for Saturday
The Greek Meteorological Services (EMY) issued a severe weather warning for Saturday. The bulletin says northern parts of Greece will be hit with heavy showers, accompanied in some areas with hail. The regions expected to mainly be affected are: the Peloponnese, Crete, the Cycladic and Dodecanese islands and possibly eastern mainland Greece.

Greek farmers rev up engines to block highways across country
Farmers all over Greece are up in arms against the Greek government and are preparing to block main highways throughout the country. The mobilisation is scheduled to start Monday in central Greece, where farmers will set up blockades on the national highway in Thessaly in central Greece.
Hoteliers offer super-low rates to attract more British bookings
Owners of less expensive hotel units at 20 popular destinations in Greece are trying to bolster bookings from the British market for the upcoming tourism season by offering rates starting from as low as 3.50 euros per person per night (pppn) - far below cost.
