Five arrested in new school bullying incident
Five teens were charged with causing bodily harm on on Friday after beating up a fellow student at a vocational high school (EPAL) in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, earlier in the week.

Crete’s Iraklio airport to be closed February 19-24
The airport at Iraklio in Crete will be closed between February 19 and 24 as maintenance and repair work is carried out on the runway.
Responding to the announcement, Greek carriers Aegean and Sky Express on Tuesday said that passengers will be rerouted to Hania or Sitia or offered the option of a ferry boat.
Farmers unsatisfied with government measures
Representatives of protesting farmers on Monday said that they are unhappy with the government's proposals on addressing their various issues and will announce how their protests will proceed on Tuesday.

Child in Thrace dies of streptococcus
A 9-year-old girl from Didymoteicho, Thrace, died after experiencing acute respiratory failure due to a Streptococcus infection on Monday.
According to state broadcaster ERT, the girl was taken to the local hospital where she tested positive for the bacteria.
ERT reports that the girl's remains will be transported to Alexandroupolis, the region's capital, for an autopsy.

Greece and Turkey aim to double trade, minister says
Deputy Foreign Minister Kostas Fragogiannis stressed Friday that Greece and Turkey aim to double their trade.
"Today [bilateral] trade is in the range of €5.4 billion and our target is to reach €10 billion," he told state broadcaster ERT after his two-day visit to Istanbul, as part of the contacts of the 2024 positive agenda cycle for Greek-Turkish exchanges.
Bomb explodes near Labor Ministry in central Athens
Anti-terrorism police are investigating a bomb explosion near the Labor Ministry in downtown Stadiou Street in Athens that caused material damage to the building.
Police and firefighters had cordoned off the area when the device went off at 1.29 a.m.
Two dead in Viotia monastery fire
A fire broke out Thursday night at the Holy Monastery of St Nicholas in Ypsilandis, Viotia, to the northwest of Athens leaving two nuns dead.
According to state broadcaster ERT, one had burns and was in the cell where the fire started, while the second was in a neighboring cell and probably died from the fumes.

Missing farmer in western Greece crushed by tractor
A 65-year-old farmer missing since Wednesday in western Greece was found dead on Thursday, crushed by his tractor, state-run broadcaster ERT reported.
Loverdos to form new party ahead of EU elections
Former Socialist minister and MP Andreas Loverdos announced on Tuesday that he will form a new party to run in the upcoming European elections.
Loverdos said, in an interview with state broadcaster ERT, that his party will stand politically "between New Democracy and PASOK" and it will serve as a vehicle for him to run for the European parliament.

Government calls for talks as farmers step up protest action
With farmers across Greece planning more rallies and motorcades that disrupt traffic on major highways and thoroughfares in protest at rising production and operating costs, the government on Tuesday vowed to address their concerns and called for dialogue.
