EBRD invests record 846 mln euros in Serbia in 2023

BELGRADE - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) invested a record 846 mln euros in Serbia in 2023, up by nearly 200 mln euros from 2022 and well above the previous all-time high of 679 mln euros in 2020.

This made Serbia one of the top five recipients of EBRD investments for the first time, the bank said in a statement.

EBRD provides loan to confectioner Kervan Gıda

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is providing a long-term loan of 22 million euros to Kervan Gıda, the leading exporter of jelly sweets in Türkiye.

The funds will be used to finance capital expenditure investments to increase the capacity of the company's jelly and licorice production lines, install solar panels and improve its wastewater treatment methods.

EBRD to boost renewable energy investments in Türkiye

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is providing a loan of $110 million to Türkiye's Enerjisa Enerji Üretim to support the expansion of the company's wind power portfolio.

Enerjisa Üretim's projects will prevent the release of 52,000 tons of CO2 emissions a year from the country's power system, the bank said in a statement.
