Simoniti talks Slovenia’s EU presidency priorities in culture in Brussels

Brussels – Culture Minister Vasko Simoniti met Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture and Youth Mariya Gabriel, as he was in Brussels on Monday to attend a session of the EU Council for Education, Youth, Culture and Sport and to present the priorities in the culture, media and audiovisual sectors during Slovenia’s EU presidency.

Decision in European Capital of Culture race expected soon

Ljubljana – All four Slovenian cities bidding to share the tittle of the 2025 European Capital of Culture with Germany’s Chemnitz have submitted their final presentations to the Culture Ministry. A jury is expected pick the winner among Ljubljana, Nova Gorica, Ptuj and Piran on 18 December.

Novi Sad named 2019 European Youth Capital

NOVI SAD - Novi Sad was named the 2019 European Youth Capital in Varna, Bulgaria, on Wednesday evening.

"After winning the 2021 European Culture Capital title, Novi Sad won again in Varna, Bulgaria, and we were named the 2019 European Youth Capital. A double for Novi Sad", Mayor Milos Vucevic told Tanjug.
