A Scottish cyclist has won many hearts in Turkey after she interrupted her world tour to save an injured stray dog.

34-year-old sprint cyclist Ishbel Taromsari arrived in the western Turkish province of Balıkesir, four months after she left France for a world tour with her bicycle and only 3.5 British pounds per day for her expenses covered by a sponsor. 

Bulgaria's Justice Minister Hristo Ivanov Becomes Dad

Bulgaria's Justice Minister Hristo Ivanov became father of a boy on Saturday.

The news first appeared on PM Boyko Borisov's official Facebook page.

"We have the first baby in the government," Borisov wrote. "The Justice Minister Hristo Ivanov today became father of a boy and treated us on the happy occasion. May the entire family be healthy!"

Quarter of Bulgarian MPs to Donate Their First Salaries

As many as 62 out of Bulgaria's 240 lawmakers have promised to donate their October salaries for a cause at the end of a campaign to save a child's life.

Betina Terzieva, a young girl, wrote earlier an open letter to MPs calling on them to give their first money as lawmakers to help Slavi Edrev, a child that has cerebral palsy and epilepsy and needs treatment.

Assad says ready to study UN plan to 'freeze' Aleppo fighting

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said Nov. 10 he was ready to study a UN plan to "freeze" fighting in the northern city of Aleppo, a statement from his office said.
      
"President Assad has been informed by (UN envoy Staffan) de Mistura of the main points of his initiative," said the statement issued after the two men held talks in Damascus.
      

PM Ponta: Statistical data allow me promising taxes will not increase next year

Prime Minister Victor Ponta commented data released on Thursday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) by saying that they make possible repeating his commitment the government would not have to raise taxes and could cut the VAT for some types of foodstuff.
