Turkish, Italian defense ministers discuss security issues
Turkey's Defense Minister Hulusi Akar discussed with his Italian counterpart on July 13, bilateral and regional security issues and the latest developments in Afghanistan, Libya and the Eastern Mediterranean, according to the Turkish National Defense Ministry.
The meeting between Akar and Lorenzo Guerini in Istanbul was constructive and positive, it said.

FETÖ threatens national security of Turkey, Kyrgyzstan: Erdoğan
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on June 9 stressed the importance of the fight against the FETÖ by Turkey and Kyrgyzstan.
"Recent events have once again revealed the bloody, dark, and ugly face of FETÖ. I hope we will overcome this threat together by standing shoulder to shoulder," Erdoğan said at a joint news conference with his counterpart from Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov.
Greece harbors terrorist, including PKK, says Turkey
Turkey's Communications Director said late on April 9 that Greece harbors terrorist organizations that plot attacks and suicide bombings against Turkey.
Fahrettin Altun said the PKK is among terror groups that are supported by Greece.
Prison sentence upheld for former court member
Turkey's Supreme Court on March 20 upheld the prison sentence handed to a former Constitutional Court (AYM) member for being a member of the FETÖ, the group behind the 2016 defeated coup attempt.
With the approval of the Supreme Court Criminal General Board, Erdal Tercan will serve 10 years, seven months and 15 days in prison.

Disinformation is national security issue: Communications director
Turkey considers disinformation originating from inside and outside the country as a "national security issue" and tries to take the necessary measures against it, said the communications director on March 6.
Some 130 soldiers detained over suspected FETO links
Turkish security forces detained more than 140 soldiers on Feb. 23 in operations centered in the western Izmir province over alleged links to the FETÖ, the group behind the 2016 defeated coup.
Operations were held across 47 provinces in the country, with the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in Izmir issuing detention warrants for a total of 148 suspects, 103 of whom were on-duty.

Senior FETÖ member nabbed in Turkish capital
Turkish gendarmerie on Jan. 30 arrested a senior operative of FETÖ, the group behind the 2016 defeated coup in Turkey, in the capital Ankara.
Identified by the initials A.Y., the former teacher was wanted with an arrest warrant for four years over "establishing and membership to an armed terrorist organization", according to statement by security forces.
