It is unacceptable that cases which have tarnished the reputation of the country's economy, such as that of Greek jeweler Folli Follie, but also others of important political significance, are approaching the statute of limitations, because the judicial system is unable to deliver justice in time.

A few weeks before the start of the trial over the Folli Follie scandal, in which Dimitris and Tzortzis Koutsolioutsos are accused, the family's famous mansion on Spetses is reportedly at the center of talks about its utilization.

There appears to be no end to the legal saga involving troubled Greek jewelry company Folli Follie as the trial that had been scheduled to resume on Monday was again postponed until September 14.

Barring any unlikely event, the Folli Follie trial is expected to begin on June 19 at the Court of Appeal for Felony Cases, as the Athens Bar Association has stated that the lawyers will attend the trial with special permission.

All those who invest in Greece insist that a key criterion in their decision is a stable tax environment. The opposition must take this seriously into consideration. 

Debating whether taxation in certain sectors is high or low is legitimate and useful. But spectacular and drastic changes kill the country's credibility and undermine its growth.

With the risk that the statute of limitations will expire for a number of offenses related to the criminal case of troubled jewelry maker Folli Follie looming, the trial is expected to finally take place in June as the Athens Bar Association is poised to grant permission for lawyers to attend the proceedings.

Investment fever is spreading on Aiolou Street, Athinas Street and Kotzia Square to Patision Street and the National Archaeological Museum, with investors maintaining high expectations for the return of the area to its bygone glory.

The Justice Ministry on Wednesday forwarded the case file containing the findings of an investigation into Nikos Pappas, the digital governance minister in the former SYRIZA-led government, to Parliament, which will debate the merit of accusations concerning his role in a contentious auction for TV licenses in 2016.
