Tourism drops in Greece after 5 record years
Tourism traffic this summer in Greece is slightly slower than last year, according to surveys, air arrival data and hoteliers.
The biggest pressure has been reported in Crete, as air arrivals dropped 7.2 percent in Iraklio in May and 5.6 percent in Hania. All other Fraport Greece-managed regional airports posted a decline averaging at 1.5 percent compared to a year earlier.

The Two Maritime Airports of Varna and Burgas Are Expecting Fewer Travelers This Year
The two maritime airports of Varna and Burgas are expected to meet 5 million passengers this year. 2 million at Varna Airport and 3 million at Burgas Airport. This was stated in an interview with Horizont Program of the Bulgarian National Radio Ulrich Heppe - CEO of Fraport Bulgaria, which is the concessioner of both airports.

Fraport points to passenger growth at Makedonia Airport
The airport that serves the northern port city of Thessaloniki is the main asset of Fraport Greece, which has invested in the operation and improvement of 14 regional airports across Greece, the consortium's chief commercial development officer Giorgos Vilos said at an event to celebrate the five-year anniversary of Ellinair.

Airports in Varna and Burgas Add New Destinations
Six new year-long lines will be opened from Varna Airport this summer. New direct flights begin in July and will be from and to Paris, Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin, Copenhagen and Liverpool. This was announced today by the chief executive of Fraport Twin Star Airport Management AD Ulrich Heppe.
