"Bulgargaz could be sued by Russian energy giant Gazprom in an arbitration case, risking paying hundreds of millions of dollars." This was stated by the Acting Energy Minister Rosen Hristov during the parliamentary control.

"'Democratic Bulgaria' is categorically against the return of 'Gazprom' as a gas supplier to Bulgaria and demands a clear position on the actions of the caretaker government from all political forces that define themselves as professing Euro-Atlantic values.

The price of gas in May in Bulgaria will be equal to that on European stock exchanges. There, blue fuel is traded for about 100 euros, which means that the increase will be about 35% in May compared to the price in April. This forecast was made by the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) Chairman Stanislav Todorov during the open meeting of the regulator on Friday.

"Yesterday, a letter was received from Gazprom Export, stating the suspension of natural gas supplies to Bulgaria. This should be confirmed in practice in minutes.

Today, Bulgargaz received a notification that natural gas supplies from Gazprom Export will be suspended as of April 27.

"The Bulgarian side has fully fulfilled its obligations and has made all payments required under this agreement, in a timely manner, strictly and in accordance with its clauses," the energy ministry said tonight.

The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) decided to increase the price of natural gas backdating it from April 1.

New price will be to 33.19 BGN per megawatt-hour (excluding excise, VAT, storage and transmission fees), which means that the price is increased by almost 16 percent.

Russian energy giant Gazprom and its Turkish partners are currently in talks on how the TurkStream pipeline can be used for deliveries to the European markets, said Elena Burmistrova, the chief executive of the Russian holding's export arm Gazprom Export.

Gazprom Export, the exporting arm of Russian gas giant Gazprom on Monday said it had signed a long-term gas supply contract with Greek company Mytilineos.

Gazprom Export, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Russian gas giant Gazprom, and Greek energy company Mytilineos signed a long-term contract for natural gas supplies.

The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission has accepted the reduction in the price of natural gas supplied to Bulgaria by Russia as of the beginning of January, by 1.81 percent compared to the previous quarter of the year, BNR reported.
