Banatski Dvor storage boosts Serbia's, region's gas security

SAINT PETERSBURG/BELGRADE - Gazprom has filled the underground gas storage facility in Banatski Dvor, northern Serbia, to capacity and it now contains 450 million cubic metres of gas as an additional guarantee of the security of Russian gas exports to Serbia, Hungary and Bosnia and Herzegovina during the approaching winter.

Gazprom Ready to Boost Gas Supplies to China By 1000 BCM

Russia's state-owned energy concern Gazprom could increase gas flow to China by 100 billion cubic meters on a yearly basis in the near future, CEO Alexey Miller said Tuesday.

"It was not long ago that we entered this marked by signing a very profitable contract under which we will have USD 400 B in thirty years. But this is just the beginning," ITAR-TASS quoted Miller as saying.

Mogherini: South Stream Gas Pipeline Not On EU Priority List

The South Stream gas pipeline is not a priority in the EU's energy strategy, according to Federica Mogherini, the incoming EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Policy.

Mogherini, as cited by ITAR-TASS, commented on the gas pipeline project during her hearing at the European Parliament on Monday.

Hungary Suspends Gas Supplies to Ukraine 'Indefinitely'

Hungary's gas operator FGSZ suspended natural gas supplies to Ukraine for an indefinite period of time, Thursday.

Ukraine has been receiving gas from Hungary, Poland and Slovakia since Russia cut off supplies to Ukraine in June in a dispute over unpaid bills.

Ukraine's state-owned gas firm, Naftogaz, called the move "unexpected and unexplained", the BBC reports.
