Energy sector screening, "no mention of South Stream"

BELGRADE -- Serbia's chief negotiator with the EU Tanja Miščević says screening on the energy sector and trans-European networks will be held in Brussels on Tuesday.

She underlining that Belgrade did not receive any concrete objections from the EU in relation to the South Stream gas pipeline.

BELGRADE - The construction of the South Stream pipeline will be realised strictly according to the plans, the Gazprom Information Department stated.

The main part of the pipeline construction in the territory of Bulgaria and Serbia will begin in summer 2014, Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller said as reported by the Voice of Russia.

The construction of the ground stretch of the South Stream pipeline in Bulgaria and Serbia  starts in May, said Gazprom head Alexey Miller.

According to a statement, published in the Russian-language section of Gazprom's website, in Bulgaria soon will be signed a contract for delivery of materials and equipment, construction and staff training. 

The Energy Community Secretariat of the EU has asked the EU Council to examine the legality of bilateral agreements on the construction of the South Stream gas pipeline concluded between Serbia and Russia's Gazprom company.

Serbia "ignored" EU objections over South Stream

BRUSSELS - The Energy Community Secretariat of the European Union submitted a request to the EU Council to examine the legality of bilateral agreements on the construction of the South Stream gas pipeline concluded between Serbia and the Russian Gazprom company.

The South Stream gas pipeline project will not be terminated, according to Bulgaria's Economy and Energy Minister Dragomir Stoynev.

Russia's energy concern Gazprom is to acquire half of the shares of its Berlin-based subsidiary, South Stream Transport.

Gazprom's board of directors agreed that a total of 205 900 shares will be sold by Gazprom Germania to the main company, RIA Novosti reported.
