Tax revenues miss target in September

ADEDY protesters barge into Finance Ministry in Athens
About 30 members of Greece's civil servants' union (ADEDY) protesting government plans to abolish the benefits and status of arduous and unhealthy professions on Wednesday stormed the Finance Ministry in Athens demanding that they meet with Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos to discuss the issue.
Earlier on Wednesday unionists held a rally outside the State General Accounting Office.
State arrears remain unchanged in July
The government remains slow in its repayment of state dues to suppliers and taxpayers, while the total debts to enterprises keep growing.
According to data released on Friday by the State General Accounting Office, the state's overdue arrears to third parties remained at 2.727 billion euros at the end of July, the same as in June.

Inspectors back for post-bailout assessment amid debt warnings
As foreign auditors returned to Athens on Monday, for the first assessment of Greece's finances since the country exited its international bailouts last month, a top European official stressed that debt relief will depend on the continuation of economic reforms.
Greek debt rose by 1.6 bln euros in Q2
Greece's central government debt reached 345.3 billion euros at the end of the second quarter of the year, up from 343.7 billion euros three months earlier, according to quarterly data published by the country's General Accounting Office on Friday.
The state's cash reserves stood at 13.08 billion euros, up from 12.32 billion euros at the end of March, the accounting office said.

Primary surplus overrun born out of stifling state investment
The state budget recorded a primary surplus overrun of 2.33 billion euros in the first four months of the year, against a target of just 374 million euros, State General Accounting Office figures showed on Monday. This was achieved with the incomplete execution of the Public Investments Program (PIP) and above-target budget revenues.

Debts to third parties show no sign of decline
The Greek state's expired debts to its suppliers and taxpayers increased in February, reaching a total amount of 3.39 billion euros. While the government was supposed to reduce the amount of overdue payments to third parties with the aim of bringing them down to zero by August, the figure has risen instead so far this year.
