Ukraine Eyes Nuclear Reactor Deal with Bulgaria Amid Energy Crisis
Amidst Ukraine's urgent need for additional power sources following the closure of the Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, negotiations are underway for a groundbreaking deal between Ukraine and Bulgaria. Ukraine aims to secure the purchase of two nuclear reactors from Bulgaria to bolster its energy capacity, with hopes of finalizing the agreement as early as June.

Turkey's KAAN, its first national combat aircraft, completed its first flight on Wednesday, part of the country's efforts to upgrade its air force.
NATO member Turkey launched its TF-X project to produce a national combat aircraft in 2016. Turkish aerospace firm TUSAS signed a deal with Britain's BAE Systems worth $125 million in 2017 to develop the next-generation fighter jet.

Alstom successor strikes plea bargain in TEŠ6 trial
Celje – GE STEAM Power Systems, the legal successor to Alstom, has struck a plea bargain with the prosecution in a case involving an alleged bribery scheme in the construction of TEŠ6, the EUR 1-billion-plus unit six at the Šoštanj coal-fired plant (TEŠ).

Celje – After a decade-long investigation, corruption trial will start in the case of a EUR 1.4 billion generator project at the Šoštanj coal-fired power station TEŠ. Twelve individuals and two legal entities face charges on multiple counts. The arraignment is scheduled for Friday.

All 5 companies from the shortlist of approved strategic investors for Belene NPP have confirmed their offers. The deadline was January 31st. The shortlisted companies are the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), Atomenergoprom AD which is part of Rosatom, Korea Hydro-Nuclear Power, Framatome SAS - France and General Electric - USA.
