Georgi Svilenski, a prominent figure within the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), has made a resolute declaration: if President Rumen Radev bestows upon them a third mandate, they will promptly return it. This announcement comes amidst a backdrop of political volatility and shifting alliances within Bulgaria.

In a continuing standoff over the formation of Bulgaria's government, GERB leader Boyko Borissov reiterated the party's stance on proposing Mariya Gabriel as prime minister, refusing to yield ground despite opposition. Borissov's comments came amidst ongoing negotiations with the "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB) coalition.

"We verbally and in writing have declined an invitation for a meeting with the candidate for Prime Minister nominated by GERB," announced at a briefing in parliament Atanas Atanasov, Vice-President of Parliament from the quota of Democratic Bulgaria. Earlier today GERB invited the representatives of Democratic Bulgaria which is GERB's fellow member in the European People's Party.

The parliamentary Committee on Budget and Finance will vote at first reading GERB's proposal to exempt Covid-19 vaccines from the indirect tax next year.

Lawmakers will also discuss President Rumen Radev's veto on texts of the VAT Act.

MPs will vote on GERB's proposal to postpone the introduction of the toll system for heavy goods vehicles.

The idea of ​​the government is for the technical start of the system to be in August, and the paid service to work from March 1, 2020.

The reduction of the party subsidies to 1 lev for a vote comes into the plenary hall. Today the deputies will vote the respective amendments to the Budget Law for 2019 in first reading, BNT reported
