1,560 jobs at risk as Getir grocery app to quit Spain: Union
Home delivery grocery app Getir has said it will implement a widespread redundancy plan that unions say will involve cutting 1,560 jobs as it withdraws from the Spanish market.
The move came just 10 days after the Turkish grocery delivery firm said it was pulling out of the French market, citing complex legal regulations.
Getir starts operating in New York
Istanbul-based Getir, the pioneer of ultra-fast grocery delivery business, announced yesterday that it started serving customers in New York.
The company entered the U.S. market with Chicago last month. It is planning to expand its service to Boston soon.

Getir acquires British smaller competitor
Turkey-based Getir, the pioneer of ultrafast grocery delivery since 2015, on Nov. 23 announced hat it has reached a definitive agreement to acquire the U.K.'s first ultrafast grocery delivery company Weezy.

Getir enters US market with Chicago
Istanbul-based Getir, the pioneer of ultra-fast grocery delivery business, announced on Nov. 12 that it entered the U.S. market with its services in Chicago.
It will add New York and Boston to its network by the end of the year, Getir founder Nazım Salur said.
