Turkey tests mid-range air defense system
The Turkish Defense Minister Fikri Işık has reviewed a test for Turkey-made medium-altitude air defense missile Hisar-O which is expected to meet the needs of the Turkish Land Forces Command.
"We have many systems developed by Roketsan and Havelsan corporations," Işık told the project's engineers after a test was conducted in the Central Anatolian province of Aksaray.

Turkey's defense and aerospace industry will shift from its current foreign computer operating system to an existing Linux-based national software in light of security needs and license costs, according to the head of the state defense firm which has undertaken the project.

Turkey begins making its debut amphibious assault ship
Turkey has launched the building phase of its amphibious landing platform dock (LPD) warship for the Turkish Naval Forces with a ceremony on April 30.
Istanbul-based shipbuilder Sedef has been contracted by the Undersecretary for Defense Industries (SSM) to build the warship for the Turkish Naval Forces.

Taking off from Elaz?? Airport, Anka ("Phoenix" in English) ascended to an altitude of 19,000 feet to carry out a four-hour exploration and observation flight.

Turkey signs contract for locally-made landing platform dock
Istanbul-based shipbuilder Sedef has been contracted by the Undersecretary for Defense Industries (SSM) to build the country's amphibious landing platform dock (LPD) warship for the Turkish Naval Forces.
The deal was signed at the International Defense Industries Fair (IDEF) in Istanbul on May 7. The cost of the scheme was not disclosed.

A Turkish army-affiliated software company has introduced a new warning system boasting an integrated drone at a new technologies fair in Germany.
The Turkish Armed Forces Foundation-affiliated software and systems company, HAVELSAN, introduced at the 2015 CeBIT Fair the Sezgin, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) integrated early warning system on late March 18.
Turkey again extends deadline for anti-missile defense proposals
Turkey has again extended by two months the deadline for bids for a multi-billion dollar anti-missile defense system tender, despite having provisionally awarded the deal to China, a Turkish official has told the Hürriyet Daily News.
