Alexandroupolis port gets 24 million euros of EU funding
Greece has secured 24 million euros ($26 million) in European Union funding to upgrade its northern Aegean Sea port of Alexandroupolis, privatisation agency HRADF said on Wednesday.
Alexandroupolis, which is close to Bulgaria and Turkey, has been used by U.S. military ships to unload munitions and move them to the eastern flank of the NATO Western alliance.
The Hellinikon Project is now signed
Perhaps the most historic project of the recent years was signed a short while ago. The investment of Hellinikon Project was signed and got off the ground just a few hours ago, after 7 years of waiting and almost 20 years from the day the old airport of Athens stopped operating.

Greek privatization agency asks for improved bids in DESFA sale
Greece's privatization agency (HRADF) on Thursday called on the two consortia that submitted binding bids for the acquisition of a 66 percent stake in the country's gas grid operator DESFA to improve their offers.
This means the preferred investor will be determined in a new round of bidding.
Greece pushes back bid deadline for railway company again
Greece has pushed back the deadline for the submission of binding bids for its railway maintenance company ROSCO by three months, its privatization agency HRADF said on Monday.
Greece has received two expressions of interest for the purchase of ROSCO, from Italy's Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane and Czech trainmaker Skoda Transportation.

Greece expects potential investors will offer at least 400 million euros for a majority stake in its gas grid operator DESFA, Energy Minister George Stathakis said in an interview with Naftemporiki newspaper.
Greece to boost privatisations
The head of Greece’s privatisations agency (HRADF) said on July 6 that it will make up for a revenue shortfall last year by raising a total €6bn by 2018. privatisations.
In 2016, for instance, Greece raised €500m from asset sales. Its target was €2bn.

Greece seeks higher offer for old Athens airport development
Greece has given the only bidder in a deal to develop the former Athens airport of Hellinikon a week to improve its offer, the country's privatisations agency HRADF said on Wednesday.
Three times the size of Monaco, Hellenikon, one of Europe's biggest real estate projects, is crucial for the debt-laden country to meet its 2014 privatisations target.
