France's TotalEnergies is exploring a sale of a 50% stake of a portfolio of renewable projects in Europe and the US, including Greece,according to two people familiar with the matter.

The French energy group is sounding out advisers for a sale of a stake in wind and solar power assets across the US, Spain, Portugal, France and Greece, the sources said.

Wind power became the main source of electricity production in Spain last year, accounting for 23 percent, ahead of nuclear (21 percent) and gas (17 percent), according to national grid operator REE.

SOFIA (Reuters) - Bulgaria has opened a new plasma melting plant that will treat and dispose of radioactive waste at its Kozloduy nuclear power plant, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Tuesday.

Representatives of a number of large European companies, included in the European Industrialists Round Table, warned British Prime Minister Theresa May that Brexit's insecurity may lead to a reduction in investment in the British economy. This was reported by The Guardian.

"This is in important project for Romania. Next month will we sign the agreement for setting up a joint company with a Chinese partner, a company which will build up two new reactors at the Cernavoda plant," Romanian Energy Minister Andrei Gerea said on Friday. 

Shares in Nuclearelectrica, the company that runs Romania’s sole nuclear power plant in Cernavoda, on Friday rose by almost 2 per cent on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB, following the announcement of a deal to construct new units.
