Import Taxes Are Raising Prices in Kosovo, Experts Warn
Kosovo will see significant price rises and an overall reduction in its purchasing power as a result of the high taxes it has imposed on imports from Serbia and Bosnia, experts have warned.
A recent assessment by Veritas Global, a Swiss company that provides economic services, claims that because of this significant fall in purchasing power, Kosovar citizens will buy less goods.
PM Dancila - IMF delegation meeting
Prime Minister Viorica Dancila had a meeting at the Victoria Governmental Palace on Thursday with the IMF expert delegation, headed by International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission chief for Romania and Bulgaria Jaewoo Lee, which is currently paying the annual visit for the evaluation of the macroeconomic situation, a procedure of periodical consultation with the national authorities.

IMF: Cyprus economic recovery gradually decelerating but remains strong
The IMF said on Tuesday that economic growth in Cyprus is gradually decelerating but remains strong, buoyed by the services and construction sectors which are partly financed with foreign direct investment.

Romania's GDP advances 5pct in Q1 2019 from Q1 2018
Romania's Q1 2019 Gross Domestic Product (GDP), as against the same quarter of 2018, recorded an increase by 5.0 percent for the unadjusted series and by 5.1 percent for the seasonally adjusted series, according to data with the National Statistics Institute (INS) released on Wednesday.

The tax measures announced by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Tuesday are in the opposite direction to where they should be headed, International Monetary Fund mission chief for Greece Peter Dolman said on Thursday in Athens, as European officials continued to informally express their concerns over the handouts.

Alexis Tsipras Promised to Cut Taxes on Food and Energy
VAT on food in Greece will be reduced from 24% to 13%, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said. The energy tax will also be halved, with 13% going to become 6, the Prime Minister promised.
Money for tax cuts will be taken from overcharging tax collection, which is 1.14 billion euros.
