The Greek Horse Racing Organization (ODIE) is putting up for an auction the one-square-kilometer plot at Markopoulo in Attica that hosts the Olympic Equestrian Center and the national racecourse, at a starting price of 30.14 million euros.

Rating agency Moody's commented on Monday that the sale by Intralot of a 16.5 percent in lottery company Ellinika Lachia to main stakeholder OPAP is a credit positive for Intralot, and that the price of 20 million euros will go a long way toward improving its liquidity, which to date was seen as "weak," according to the agency.

Gambling giant OPAP announced on Tuesday that its 100 percent subsidiary OPAP Investment Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding with Intralot for the acquisition of the latter's stake in lottery company Ellinika Lachia, amounting to 511,500 shares or 16.5 percent of the share capital, for 20 million euros.

Both Intracom Holdings and Intralot on Thursday refuted talk about a merger of the two companies.

The government may be rejoicing in the increase in spending on research and development, but the message from abroad points to the sluggish performance of Greek businesses in the R&D sector.

Investment firm QCM denied on Thursday any involvement in Intracom's stock price decline this week, describing an internet report on the matter as "fake news." The denial sent the stocks of the Greek group and its subsidiary Intralot soaring in Thursday's trading session.

Athens-listed gaming infrastructure company Intralot this week announced the sale of its 51 percent stake in Azeri subsidiary Azerinteltek QSC, managed by Turkey's Inteltek.

The buyer is Turkish investment company Baltech Investments LLC, which already owns 24.5 percent in Azerinteltek.

Greek lottery systems provider Intralot announced on Tuesday the signing of a new contract between Turkish state lottery firm SportToto and Inteltek, Intralot's subsidiary in Turkey in cooperation with Turkcell.

After four days southbound and a few more hours of losses on Tuesday, Greek stocks staged a recovery, offsetting the early drop and recovering some ground lost in previous sessions.
