Euro bank backs privatization of two Turkish hydropower plants

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has said it is supporting a major milestone in the privatization of state-owned power plants in Turkey with a $55 million dual-currency loan to a subsidiary of Koç Holding, the largest diversified conglomerate in the country.

15th Istanbul Biennial opens at weekend

The 15th Istanbul Biennial, entitled "A Good Neighbor" and curated by artist duo Elmgreen & Dragset, opens to the public on Sept. 16. 

Organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV), the event brings together artworks by 56 artists from 32 countries, all addressing different notions of home, belonging and neighborhood. 

Koç unit bids in power plant tender

Turkish LPG distribution company Aygaz said on Sept. 12 its Entek Elektrik Üretim unit, jointly owned with parent Koc Holding, has bid in a tender to operate two hydroelectric power stations.

A previous privatization tender in 2016 for the two power plants, Menzelet and Kılavuzlu, had been canceled, Aygaz said in a statement to the Istanbul stock exchange.
