NLB buying out small Komercijalna Banka shareholders
Ljubljana – The NLB bank has send a request to its Serbian subsidiary NLB Komercijalna Banka for a buy-out of the minority shareholders as Slovenia’s largest bank recently reached the relevant threshold after acquiring additional shares. NLB expects that the buy-out will have a neutral impact on the group’s bottom line.
NLB completing integration of Komercijalna Banka
Ljubljana – NLB bank is completing the integration of Komercijalna Banka, a Serbian bank it bought in 2020. It has received regulatory approval for the legal merger of Komercijalna with NLB’s existing branch in Serbia, while the operational merger will take place over the weekend.

NLB bank more than trebles Q1 net profit
Ljubljana – NLB, Slovenia’s largest banking group, reported a net profit of EUR 64.6 million for the first quarter of the year, about 3.5-fold the figure posted in the same period a year ago (EUR 18.3 million).

NLB completes acquisition of Serbian bank
Ljubljana – Nova Ljubljanska Banka (NLB), Slovenia’s largest bank, has completed the acquisition of an 83.2% stake in Komercijalna Banka (KB) in Serbia, a move it describes as a milestone in its strategy of becoming the leading financial institution focused on Southeast Europe. NLB paid EUR 394.7 million for the stake.

NLB’s takeover of Serbian bank about to be completed
Ljubljana – NLB, Slovenia’s largest bank, has obtained all the required permits to take over an 83% stake in Komercijalna Banka in line with the February contract, NLB said in a press release on Tuesday.
The takeover of the bank which the Serbian state sold to NLB in February for EUR 387 million is expected to be finalised by the end of the year.
The highest bid for Komercijalna Banka was given by a bank owned by Miodrag Kostic
AIK bank offered about 395 million euros, according to the daily newspaper, citing unofficial sources.

Piraeus Bank to sell its Albanian unit
Greece's largest lender Piraeus Bank said on Tuesday it had agreed to sell its unit in Albania to Balfin Group and Komercijalna Banka.
The divestment is part of Piraeus Bank's EU-approved restructuring plan to boost its core capital and reduce its foreign exposure.

Greece's Alpha Bank to sell Serbian subsidiary
Alpha Bank said on Monday that it had reached a deal to sell its wholly owned subsidiary Alpha Bank Srbija to Serbia's MK Group, which is involved in a range of businesses.
Analysts say other Greek lenders could also pull out of Serbia as they restructure in the wake of Greece's debt crisis.
