Master of Art Film Festival Features 77 Titles from Around the World

The third edition of Master of Arts Film Festival, dedicated to the world's biggest names in world art and culture, has 77 titles from around the world. Ten productions are Bulgarian. The films will be shown from April 30th in Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna, the organizers announced.

Access to the National Palace of Culture will be Limited on April 10 and 11

Access to the central building of the National Palace of Culture will be limited on April 10 and 11 (Tuesday and Wednesday). The measure is due to security concerns about high-end events in the calendar of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU.
 

Bulgarian Companies have Sold Goods for BGN 15 Million for Europe's Lidl Stores

The "Rodna Stryha" product line in its partnership with the Lidl chain marks one year since its launch. Sales of over 15 million leva were realized by Bulgarian manufacturers in Lidl stores in Europe in 2017. Thanks to the partnership with Lidl, more than 20 Bulgarian companies are selling products outside the country.

City of Athens dishes up Christmas lunch for 1,000

The City of Athens served about 1,000 people at its free Christmas lunch which took place at an indoor stadium in the district of Rouf, west of the city center.

Dozens of municipal employees and volunteers helped serve the dinners - which were this year donated by supermarket chain Lidl - mostly to poor families and homeless persons.

Theresa May last night raised the terror threat level to critical as police scrambled to identify the attackers who tried to blow up a packed Tube train during the morning rush hour, in the fourth assault to strike London this year. At least 29 people were injured in the blast and stampede, including victims requiring hospital treatment for severe burns.

Lidl Apologized for the Removed Christian Crosses on the Packaging of its Products

The Lidl supermarket chain has apologized to its users for removing crosses from photos of churches from the Greek island of Santorini, which graphically shaped their Greek product line, and promised to change the offensive packaging as soon as possible. Reports Mediapool. 

German supermarket edits cross out of photo of Greek church

German supermarket chain Lidl is being criticized for editing a photo showing a Greek church by removing the Orthodox cross on top of it.

The photograph is used in packaging of the Eridanous range of Greek products, and the company has responded by saying that they did this wishing to be "religiously neutral."
