Malaysia sent a team to determine whether the debris, which was recently found on the French island of Reunion in the Indian Ocean, is from the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 (MH370).

The piece of wreckage, which measures two metres in length, washed up on the island late on Wednesday, the BBC reports.

Investigators headed to a tiny Indian Ocean island on July 30 to inspect whether plane wreckage that drifted ashore was from missing flight MH370, raising hopes of solving one of aviation's greatest mysteries.

Australian Foreign minister Julie Bishop said on Friday that she was ‘sickened” after watching footage that emerged showing Russian-backed rebels looking through the luggage of passengers killed from the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 that was shot down over Ukraine.
