About 100 Bulgarians work for the technology giant Microsoft at the headquarters of the company in the US.

Between $ 20 million and $ 25 million will be the investment of the American company AtScale in Bulgaria, said Matthew Bird, founder of UpScale and Scott Hauser, product manager in front of Bloomberg TV Bulgaria.

Three Bulgarian students were among the winners of the Space Tube project supported by Microsoft, Airbus and 3M. Students from several European countries, including Bulgaria, were provoked to test their knowledge and explore space, the press service of GERB said.

Russian Softline is expanding its operations in Eastern Europe, including its entry into the Bulgarian market. In 2018 it became clear that the company will start operations in Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Bulgaria. The company is leading in the field of digital transformation processes.

Microsoft has acquired the Turkish open-source software firm Citus Data for an undisclosed sum.

AtScale, the world leader in large data management, opened an office in Sofia. This is the first destination in which the California company moves internationally. The company aims to "bring order in the chaotic ocean of data" that businesses are working on. Customers on its platform for business intelligence are giants such as JPMorgan Chase, Toyota, Wells Fargo, GlaxoSmithKline.

Amazon for the first time closed out Monday's trading session as the world's biggest publicly-traded company, overtaking Microsoft and other fellow tech behemoths.

The online sales goliath assumed the top spot after notching a 3.4 percent gain to finish with a market capitalization of $796.8 billion, about $13.2 billion more than Microsoft, reports AFP.
