In a new twist in the ongoing probe into the Novartis case, Deputy Supreme Court Prosecutor Ioannis Angelis submitted a report to the court's prosecutor's office calling for the reopening of three criminal lawsuits filed by three prominent politicians who were implicated in the alleged bribery investigation.

Officials from Turkey and the European Union will meet on Nov. 29 in Brussels to discuss the implementation of a migrant deal and prospective visa liberalization for Turkish nationals, amid mutual recriminations about the state of the Ankara-Brussels relationship. 

EU Commissioner for Migration Dimitris Avramopoulos has played down concerns over a deal between Brussels and Turkey that was meant to curb the flow of refugees making their way to Europe, while calling for more solidarity among member states on the issue of immigration.

Refugees and immigrants continue to arrive in Greece, while the situation in northern Greece’s border remains chaotic. EU Commissioner for Migration Dimitris Avramopoulos stated on Saturday that about 100,000 immigrants and refugees will enter Greece until the end of March.

European and African leaders will meet in Malta to enhance collaboration on the migration flow. Europe is expected to offer countries in Africa billions of euros in exchange for help with the migrant crisis.

EU Commissioner for Migration Dimitris Avramopoulos said the aim of the summit in Malta on Wednesday was to “enhance collaboration” with African countries.

New Democracy (ND) leader Evangelos Meimarakis met on Friday with EU Commissioner for Migration Dimitris Avramopoulos.

Meimarakis called Avramopoulos “a Greek asset to Europe” and underlined: “Whatever the government is on Monday needs to cooperate with you.”
